My name is Matthieu,

I know the Excess and Lagoon catamarans perfectly, their history, the people who design, build and prepare them.


I have been sailing for more than 10 years, first as a cruising instructor with Les Glénans in Paimpol, then on the Ile d'Yeu where I created my cruising school: Les Voiles de l'Atlantique.

I will accompany you throughout your sailing training and will be happy to answer any questions you may have.

Whether you are an experienced sailor or just starting out, it is with passion and teaching skills that I will help you discover the pleasure of sailing aboard the Excess and Lagoon catamarans.

Our services

To best assist you, here is a list of all the services we offer and their prices.

  • Explanation of how your catamaran is built, revealing all the secrets of Excess and Lagoon catamarans. ​ ​

  • Configuration of your catamaran and choice of different options. (Free of charge upon request from your dealer)

  • ​Handover of your catamaran, explanation of how its various equipment works. (Free of charge upon request from your dealer)

  • Day of sailing lessons. €1,000


  • Depending on your level, we will cover:

  •  specific vocabulary used on board a sailboat

  •  different sailing maneuvers (tacking/gybing)

  •  sail adjustments

  •  heaving to

  • the aerodynamics and hydrodynamics of a sailboat

1/2 day harbor maneuvers. €500
Depending on your level, we will cover:
- mooring techniques along a pontoon
- mooring techniques on a catway
- arrivals and departures depending on weather conditions​

  • One-week course. €5000
    The aim of this course is to ensure that you feel calm and confident at the helm of your catamaran. It takes place during the day, aboard your catamaran.

The topics covered, depending on your level, will be:
- specific vocabulary used on board a sailboat
- different sailing maneuvers (tacking/gybing)
- sail adjustments
- heaving to
- the aerodynamics and hydrodynamics of a sailboat
- mooring techniques along a pontoon
- mooring techniques on a catway
- arrivals and departures depending on weather conditions
- how to anchor successfully
- how to check the weather forecast and use it
- crew management
- essential knots to know
- electronic navigation tools
- energy management on board
cooking on board and waste management.
- awareness of respect for the marine environment

One-year support: €10,000

This service includes a two-week course and covers the same program as the one-week course, but in greater depth, including a crossing from Les Sables d'Olonne to Île d'Yeu and night sailing.

But the support doesn't stop there. For a whole year, you will have access to my advice and services. The aim is to make your life easier and put you in touch with the right people wherever you are in the world to help you solve your problems.
